How to Use Sony Time-Lapse App Tutorial
Here is a quick video tutorial (at the end of the article) on how to use the Sony time-lapse app that you can download from their PlayMemories Store. In the video, I assume that you have already downloaded the app to the camera. In this article, I will try to walk you through the steps to download the app.
You can register for the Sony PlayMemories store online at https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/portal/. It will be much easier on a computer than the camera.
After you have registered got to the menu in the camera and find the Applications button.
Once you click on that you will need to click on applications list.
Next, you will click on the PlayMemories Camera App button.
Once you click on that you will be given a message that it is looking for an access point. If this is the first time doing this you will have to set up your WIFI settings here.
Now that you have your WIFI info added it will try to connect to your signal.
At this point, it should have connected to the WIFI and it will bring up the app store. I already have the Time-Lapse app installed on my camera which you can see here.
You can see the other apps they have that are free or paid by going to the ALL app filter on the left side of the screen. There will be the list of ALL the apps they currently have.
This is the part that I hate. When you go to buy an app you need to put in your login and password which is a pain on the screen.
One mistake I made in the video was that I said the Time-Lapse app only cost $1.99 or something like that. It is actually $9.99. I am not sure if they raised the price or if it was always that price. Either way IMO I still think its a must. If you forget your shutter release or the batteries die this app can save your rear end.
At this point, you should be all set with your new app. Now you can watch the video I made on how to use the Time-Lapse app while I was out in the field. If you have any questions please leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them.
